Today, Phil Hernandez, Democratic nominee to represent Virginia House District 94, received the endorsement of Ralph Northam, 73rd Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
“I’m proud to endorse Phil Hernandez. As a resident of Norfolk’s 94th House of Delegates District, I’ll be even prouder to vote for him in November,” said former Governor Ralph Northam. “I’ve known Phil for years and there is no question in my mind that he will be an effective legislator and problem solver in the General Assembly. Phil’s policy knowledge, deep roots in the community, and ability to bring people together will help him create positive change for Norfolk and Virginia.”
Phil Hernandez issued the following statement in response to Governor Northam’s endorsement:
“It’s an honor to have Governor Northam’s endorsement,” said Phil Hernandez. “From expanding Medicaid, which helped hundreds of thousands of Virginians access affordable health care, to raising the minimum wage and signing new gun safety bills into law, Governor Northam moved Virginia forward. I will work tirelessly to protect the progress we’ve made and continue to build a more welcoming and equitable Virginia.”
Spanning the Norfolk shoreline of the Chesapeake Bay, the new 94th District covers much of the northern half of the City from the Port of Virginia to East Beach. The 94th will be one of the most competitive open seats in the Commonwealth this November.
