STRENGTHEN OUR ECONOMY

AN ECONOMY THAT WORKS FOR WORKING PEOPLE IS AN ECONOMY THAT WORKS BEST.

Too many in our community work full-time, yet do not have economic security. It’s why Hampton Roads has one of the highest eviction rates in the United States.

As a delegate, I’ll advocate for policies that lift up working people, including fighting for the higher wages that help all businesses, and ensure that all Virginians have paid sick leave, and protect the right of workers to organize if they need to press for better working conditions.

We also need to invest in our communities to lay the groundwork for a stronger future economy. For instance, on the Eastern Shore, expanding broadband access will attract and help jumpstart new businesses. I’ll also prioritize expansion of vocational training, with apprenticeship programs that offer pathways to good-paying careers.
